| The mission of the Great Dane Club of Oklahoma is to preserve and enhance the integrity of the Great Dane through promoting responsible breeding and ownership, to preserve the working attributes and intelligence of the breed, to prevent exploitation and abuse of the breed, and promote a spirit of encouragement and education for the membership in all Great Dane activities, including but not limited to: conformation, rescue, obedience, rally-o, agility, companion dogs, flyball, and therapy dogs. Some of our members are brand-new owners, some have been breeders and exhibitors for many years; some have many Danes, some just one and some don't have any Great Danes at the moment. But we all love the breed and are willing to share whatever information and experience we have to encourage others to develop the best in their dogs. Activities are held throughout the year and new members are eagerly sought.
Our vision is a club that spans the interests and activities of all the membership. Our aim for tomorrow is a state where Great Danes are bred by responsible, knowledgeable breeders and owned by a fancy well-versed in the breed and committed to its care and betterment. We welcome members from all walks of life and envision a membership as diverse as the activities in which they are engaged. With support and education offered to all in their equally worthy endeavors, we strive for our primary goal: A future where no Great Dane goes unwanted.
The Great Dane Club of Oklahoma was founded in July 2005 |
